Mother & Son Impact Story

My 11yr son joined Horse Sense For Kids in January 2025.
He had very little experience with riding horses.  He also had very low self-esteem and was having trouble getting along with others at school, especially those with special needs.  He was also removed from the bus due to negative behaviours.
Since he has been riding Buddy with instruction from Shannon, and periodically Rob, my son has built some self-esteem, empathy and respect for others, especially those with special needs.  He still has moments of negativity, but mostly due to a lack of patience.  My son will now eagerly volunteer to help those with special needs.  He hasn’t been suspended since February, and he received Student of the Month in April for helping others.
The program has been extremely beneficial to him.  He has had a lot of trauma, and Buddy and Shannon have helped him to learn to talk about it.
One of his memorable memories was when Rob was instructing and taught him to dismount by sliding down the rear end.
Unfortunately, my son has had to take a leave, but he is looking forward to returning as soon as he can.
Thank you, Brenda, Rob, Shannon and Buddy.  You have definitely made a difference in my son.
