Western Riding Lessons
Horse Sense for Kids located at B’N’R Stables is dedicated to providing western horseback riding lessons in a fun, safe environment, with quality instruction to develop the overall horsemanship skills of all our students. Our goal is to provide the most comprehensive horsemanship program we can and to make the most of your commitment to riding and love of horses!
Horse Sense for Kids’ lessons are available to the general public and provide:
- Instruction on proper grooming, saddling and ground work providing students with the knowledge and ability to not only ride but handle and prepare the horses themselves.
- 1:1 instruction for beginners/those with special needs. We want to create a solid foundation for your horsemanship skills and believe that private lessons are the best way to get you started. Private lessons will enable our instructors to meet the individual needs of each student and provide more intensive training. Beginner lessons are 45 minutes.
- Small class sizes (max 4). Students will move into group lessons once they are able to groom, tack and ride independently with control at the walk and jog (rider level 2). Group lessons are one hour.
- Quiet, reliable, well-trained horses – the ideal mounts for maximum safety allowing students to gain confidence and learn new skills from beginner to advanced levels.
- Education on how to understand and effectively communicate with horses – an important aspect to improve safety and connection with horses.
- A level horsemanship program that includes educational booklets, testing and certification for students, providing additional learning and goal setting options.
- Friendly, knowledgeable, professional instructors and assistants to make your riding experience safe, educational and fun!
- Available for ages 5 to adult and those with special needs are welcome.
Lessons available Tuesday to Saturday, CLOSED SUNDAYS and MONDAYS
2025 Riding Sessions
Spring Session
Mar 25 to June 14 – 12 weeks: Total $780, Deposit $150.
July Session
July 1 to July 26 – 4 weeks: Total $260, Deposit: $75.
August Session
July 29 to Aug 23 – 4 weeks: Total $260, Deposit: $75.
Fall Session
Sept 9 to Dec 6 – 14 weeks: Total: $845, Deposit: $150.
Trial Lesson
Tues to Sat – 45 minutes: Total: $75.
Want to try a lesson and see if you like it? Our 45-minute trial lessons that will provide you an opportunity to see if you enjoy horses and our services. Lessons are 1:1 and include a bit of time preparing the horse and then riding time. Trial lessons are offered Tues – Sat based on availability.
New students will receive access information after registering with Brenda.
Deposit payments will secure your spot and are NON-REFUNDABLE. Once you register for a session, we commit to keeping that spot for you, affecting our scheduling and the registrations of other students. Changes to scheduling can sometimes be accommodated but deposits will be forfeited if a booking is cancelled. There is a high demand for our lessons with a waiting list so if you are interested in a session, register early to ensure a spot!
